Maintenance Planner / Asset Reliability Specialist Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Planner / Asset Reliability Specialist to own and improve asset data, job planning, and maintenance execution through our CMMS. This role is critical to ensuring maintenance work is planned safely and executed efficiently with minimal downtime. You will be responsible for building accurate bills of materials (BOMs), maintaining asset hierarchies and technical documentation, and developing detailed job plans that support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance in an industrial plant environment. This position plays a key role in improving equipment reliability, optimizing maintenance workflows, and driving continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities CMMS & Asset Data Management Own the accuracy and integrity of asset data, BOMs, and equipment hierarchies in the CMMS Maintain work orders, job plans, parts lists, and technical records Perform field verification to validate asset structures and technical data Organize and maintain equipment documentation (manuals, drawings, P&IDs) Maintenance Planning & Execution Develop detailed job plans for preventive, predictive, corrective, and routine maintenance Define scope, labor, tools, materials, and safety requirements for all work Create clear, step-by-step work instructions for technicians Ensure materials and resources are available prior to job execution Work Order & Scheduling Support Manage and prioritize maintenance backlog based on risk and equipment criticality Partner with Maintenance Supervisors and Scheduling to coordinate work execution Communicate equipment downtime requirements and constraints Safety & Compliance Incorporate all required safety procedures into job plans (LOTO, hot work, confined space, PPE) Ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA and plant safety standards Reliability & Continuous Improvement Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and recurring issues Improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs Develop and standardize job plans for repeat work Drive improvements in uptime, efficiency, and cost control Required Qualifications 5+ years of maintenance or maintenance planning experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment Hands-on knowledge of mechanical equipment (pumps, motors, instrumentation, etc.) Experience with CMMS platforms (Maximo, MainSaver, Ultimo, or similar) Proven ability to build and manage BOMs and asset structures Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and P&IDs Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of maintenance best practices Excellent organization, planning, and data management skills Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) Experience with AutoCAD or similar tools for drawing updates/redlines Experience in preventive/predictive maintenance program development Experience creating standardized job plans Work Environment 60% plant floor / 40% office-based role Monday-Friday schedule (~7:00-4:00) Industrial environment with exposure to heat, equipment, and production conditions Ability to climb ladders and wear PPE including respirator (clean-shaven requirement may apply) Blood test monitoring required per safety regulations Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Tampa, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
