Position Overview 8a-4p M-F In addition to the responsibilities of the Maintenance Group, to lead, teach, follow-up, promote integrity and persuade employees to take initiative and use good judgment and to influence employee's commitment to excellence and allow them to be successful. The position will include the following: Perform diagnostic procedures necessary to troubleshoot the more complex equipment issues, seeking technical support from outside integrators/engineers when necessary. Communicate with shift supervisors each day concerning any issues from previous shifts. Hold pass down meeting with shift technicians concerning issues causing downtime or concerns of potential downtime from previous shift. Attend morning production meeting when necessary to discuss shift production, quality and downtime Manage and review work orders using CMMS to schedule downtime with shift supervisors for work to be completed. Prioritize work orders and assign work to technicians assuring proper skill level meets the task. Supervise and follow-up on work being performed to insure safety, quality of work and timeliness. Develop effective Preventative Maintenance program, which minimizes costly unexpected downtime. Review Vibration Analysis Reports, Thermo graphic Reports and schedule any predictive maintenance repairs necessary. Assist parts clerk in working with vendors, researching parts, submitting requisitions, reviewing requisitions to insure cost effectiveness and readiness of the parts inventory. Develop effective and progressive training program for in house and outside training in order to maintain and improve the skill level of all technicians. Actively participate in weekly downtime meetings and working with downtime team to solve re-occurring downtime issues and to introduce innovative ideas in minimizing downtime while improving production and quality. Attending cost savings meeting, working with supervisors on ideas to cut cost within the company. Report the progress of the downtime team monthly in management review. Conduct period and annual performance reviews with all technicians. To initiate a disciplinary action plan in the event of poor performance evaluations.
Oversee:
Operate welding and soldering equipment to make necessary repairs. Responsible for use and security of shop equipment and tools. Take appropriate action when emergency repairs are necessary. Operation of lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders and other shop equipment. Qualifications Minimum education required High school or GED, previous leadership experience. Minimum experience required Three years of leadership experience. At least one-year experience at the specific facility.
Description of working conditions/physical surroundings:
Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, crouch, and kneel frequently (25% to 75%). Must be able to crawl and climb occasionally (25% or less). Must be able to stand and handle/manipulate equipment continuously (75% or more). Must be able to lift 10-50 lbs. (25% or less). Must be able to carry 10-20 lbs. frequently (25% to 75%), and 20-50 lbs. Must be able to push under 10 lbs. frequently (25% to 75%), and 20-50 lbs. or over occasionally (25% or less). Must be able to pull under 10 lbs. occasionally and 10 lbs. to over 50 lbs. occasionally (25% or less).
