Job Description
Head of Maintenance-Plant Operations Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Leader to oversee plant maintenance operations and ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of production equipment and facility systems. This individual will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop maintenance personnel while managing day-to-day activities and priorities. Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime. Provide technical support for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues. Support equipment upgrades, facility improvements, and capital investment projects. Monitor operational metrics and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and productivity. Ensure compliance with company safety standards, food manufacturing regulations, and quality requirements. Manage maintenance planning, budgeting, contractor coordination, and procurement activities. Collaborate with production teams to support operational efficiency and minimize disruptions. Facilitate maintenance review meetings and track progress on corrective actions and improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate maintenance records, procedures, work instructions, and equipment documentation. Drive continuous improvement efforts through root cause analysis, problem-solving methodologies, and process optimization. Coordinate plant shutdown activities, maintenance schedules, and resource planning. Monitor spare parts inventory levels and support cost-effective inventory management practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Minimum 5 years of maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, including mechanical, electrical, and automated systems. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams, prioritize workloads, and achieve operational objectives. Experience utilizing maintenance management software (CMMS) and reliability improvement programs. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical problem-solving abilities. Preferred Experience Experience working with ERP systems, maintenance planning software, or manufacturing execution systems. Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, or similar continuous improvement methodologies. Experience supporting high-volume food, beverage, consumer goods, packaging, or process manufacturing operations. Work Environment This position operates in both office and manufacturing plant environments. Candidates should be comfortable working in a production setting, conducting equipment inspections, and supporting plant operations as needed.
