Job Description
Run the Fixed Ops Department — Not Just the Service Drive Wild Rose Chevrolet is looking for a Service Manager who wants real ownership of a department, not a title with a corporate playbook attached. We're an independently owned GM dealership serving Shenandoah and the surrounding areas, with customers across Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska. If you're a strong service advisor or assistant manager ready to step up, or a manager tired of fighting a bureaucracy to fix obvious problems, we should talk. Compensation We pay a solid base salary commensurate with experience, plus a commission structure tied to service department performance. Managers who drive strong results earn over $100,000. The upside is real and it is not capped — what you take home is a direct reflection of how the department performs. What You'll Own Full P&L responsibility for the service department — labor gross, effective labor rate, hours per repair order, and technician productivity Hiring, training, and retaining technicians and service advisors; building a bench so the shop isn't one resignation away from a backlog CSI performance and customer retention, including handling escalations personally Warranty administration and GM compliance, including claim submission accuracy and Standards for Excellence requirements Coordination with the Parts Department to keep fill rates high and comebacks low Shop scheduling, workflow, and capacity planning to maximize throughput without burning out the team Maintaining a safe, clean, organized shop that meets manufacturer and OSHA standards What You Bring 3+ years in automotive service management, or proven experience as a lead service advisor or assistant service manager ready to advance Working knowledge of dealership DMS software (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or Dealertrack) Understanding of manufacturer warranty processes — GM experience strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to read a service department financial statement and act on it Genuine leadership skills — technicians work for managers they respect, not managers they report to Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record ASE certification and/or GM Service Manager training a plus What We Offer Base salary plus commission, with realistic earnings above $100,000 for high performers Health, medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Paid time off Paid manufacturer training and certification Employee discounts on vehicles, parts, and service Low cost of living and a short commute; Shenandoah offers what larger markets can't at this pay level Ready to Apply?
