The Shopkeeper will adhere to established processes and also assist with continuous improvement and process development needs of the role and company. This position also requires the ability to perform
  • small engine repair work
  • as needed, with a strong emphasis on
  • preventative maintenance
  • and readiness for field operations. Essential Functions The Shopkeeper will perform the following duties in accordance with SOPs and company policies:
  • Inventory Management
  • Manage shop and service vehicle inventory levels.
  • Complete daily and monthly inventory tasks per SOPs.
  • Ensure supplies are stocked, organized, and ready for field use.
  • Fleet Management
  • Track vehicle mileage and maintenance activity.
  • Maintain recommended vehicle maintenance logs and submit tracking/reports per SOPs.
  • Coordinate maintenance services and document work performed.
  • Equipment Management & Inspections
  • Inspect equipment before and after field use.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are in safe working condition.
  • Track inspections, repairs, and readiness status.
  • Chemical Management
  • Prepare chemicals for field use.
  • Maintain chemical control documentation (including spill response materials).
  • Ensure SDS sheets are up to date and chemical storage is compliant with SOPs.
  • Daily Job Preparation
  • Pull supplies and equipment required for daily technician routes.
  • Verify field readiness, PPE, documentation, and chemical kits are complete.
  • Service Trade™ Customer Communications
  • Use Service Trade™ to send service completion communication to customers per SOPs.
  • PPE & Tool Inspections
  • Inspect, document, and report PPE/tool condition per SOPs.
  • Maintain proper PPE availability and compliance for field staff.
  • Reinforce SOPs & Safety Program
  • Reinforce company standard operating procedures and policy in both the shop and the field.
  • Assist with updating the company safety program, including ensuring SDS sheets are current and new equipment protocols are completed and implemented.
  • Support safety training of field technicians.
  • Documentation & Filing
  • Maintain organized records of inspections, checklists, and tracking sheets.
  • Ensure all documentation is filed per SOP requirements.
  • Communication to Leadership
  • Communicate reportable items and relevant issues to leadership per SOPs.
  • Supply & Filter Programs
  • Support and implement company filter programs (filters/services) and track status.
  • Parts Research & Procurement
  • Research parts and support procurement for quotes and service jobs.
  • Order/coordinate warehouse inventory, office supplies, and other requested items per SOPs.
  • Property Management
  • Coordinate maintenance services and facility-related requests.
  • Keep shop and office safe, clean, and in good working order.
  • Janitorial Duties
  • Complete daily and weekly janitorial duties per company guidelines.
  • Team Meetings & Ad Hoc Support
  • Attend catch-up meetings regularly to provide updates to leadership on shop status and issues.
  • Complete ad hoc tasks as needed to support leadership and field staff.
  • Delegation & Oversight
  • Delegate tasks to temporary or part-time Shop Assistants.
  • Oversee task completion and provide status reports on reportable items per documented SOPs.
  • Fog Control Support
  • Aid in survey, treatment, and maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Training & Development
  • Support training and development of field staff on proper field tasks and equipment.
  • Additional Duties
  • Other responsibilities may be added based on company needs.
  • ### Small Engine Repair Requirements (Must-Have)
  • Ability to perform small engine repair work
  • as needed (diagnosis, basic repairs, and maintenance).
  • Must know how to perform oil changes
  • on equipment/engines used in the field.
  • Must know how to perform preventative maintenance on pressure washers
  • , including proper inspection and servicing.
  • Must know how to winterize pressure washers
  • to prevent freezing damage and ensure safe off-season storage.
  • ### Qualifications / Skills
  • Experience in
  • shop operations
  • , •inventory control•, and/or •fleet/equipment maintenance•preferred.
  • Familiarity with
  • SDS documentation
  • , chemical handling best practices, and spill response readiness.
  • Strong understanding of
  • preventative maintenance
  • principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to
  • inspect equipment
  • , identify issues, and coordinate repairs.
  • Comfortable using maintenance tracking methods and completing checklists/documentation accurately.
  • Ability to work safely with chemicals, power equipment, hand tools, and vehicles.
  • Good communication skills and reliability in completing daily responsibilities on time.
  • Valid driver's license may be required (if field support/vehicle use is needed).
  • ### Physical Requirements (Typical)
  • Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment (weight limits: [Insert if known]).
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in a shop environment.
  • Ability to safely handle tools and equipment.
