Job Description
Overview Cimino's Little Italy is seeking an experienced, energetic, and dependable Full-Time Restaurant Service Manager to help lead our front-of-house operations and provide an exceptional dining experience for every guest. The ideal candidate will have previous restaurant management experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment. The Service Manager will oversee daily service, support and coach team members, address guest concerns, and work closely with kitchen staff and ownership to ensure the restaurant operates smoothly. Responsibilities Oversee daily front-of-house operations and ensure smooth, efficient restaurant service Lead, train, motivate, and supervise servers, hosts, bartenders, bussers, and other service staff Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere for guests Monitor the dining room to ensure service, cleanliness, and food-quality standards are consistently met Create and manage employee schedules based on business needs Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new team members Assign opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities Address guest questions, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly Work closely with the kitchen team to maintain proper communication and accurate order delivery Help manage labor costs, staffing levels, inventory, and daily restaurant expenses Handle cash transactions, register drawers, deposits, refunds, and end-of-shift reports Ensure employees follow food-safety, sanitation, alcohol-service, and workplace-safety procedures Monitor employee performance and provide coaching or corrective action when necessary Assist during busy periods by helping with tables, seating guests, running food, or supporting other areas as needed Promote menu items, specials, beverages, desserts, and other offerings to increase sales Help maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked restaurant Support private parties, catering orders, special events, and large reservations when needed Complete additional management duties assigned by ownership or the General Manager Qualifications Previous restaurant management or supervisory experience is required Full-service restaurant experience is strongly preferred Experience managing front-of-house employees and daily restaurant operations Strong guest-service and problem-solving skills Ability to lead a team while maintaining a positive, respectful, and professional work environment Knowledge of restaurant service standards, food safety, sanitation, and alcohol-service procedures Experience with employee scheduling, training, cash handling, and shift reports Familiarity with restaurant POS systems and basic computer programs Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to communicate effectively with guests, employees, kitchen staff, and ownership Ability to remain calm and make good decisions during busy or stressful situations Reliable transportation and consistent attendance Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds when necessary Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other shifts based on restaurant needs
