Job Description

at Express Employment Professionals in Glen Carbon, Illinois, United States Job Description The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and facility systems. This role is responsible for planning and assigning work to maintenance staff, reviewing performance, and ensuring all work aligns with established methods, policies, and safety standards. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong technical knowledge and the ability to drive efficiency, quality, and safety across all maintenance operations.
Pay:
$75,000/yr-$85,000/yr,
BOE Benefits:

Responsibilities:
Direct and support maintenance staff, providing on‑site technical expertise. Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. Inspect completed work to verify quality and completeness. Partner with Production Supervisors to ensure timely maintenance on production equipment. Identify training needs and support skill development for maintenance personnel. Maintain and manage the preventive maintenance system to ensure cost‑effective scheduling and execution. Coordinate and inspect major contracted work, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general maintenance services. Maintain accurate records, reports, and correspondence related to maintenance activities. Requisition and purchase maintenance supplies, materials, and tools as needed. Inspect buildings and equipment using visual checks, gauges, meters, and testing devices to determine maintenance needs. Review blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents to plan labor and material requirements. Operate machinery and equipment to observe performance, diagnose issues, and verify repairs.
