General Functions:
Effectively manage crew of workers who maintain assigned equipment, facilities, and/or grounds. 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday or as assigned. On call 24 hours.
Specific Functions:
Maintain assigned buildings and grounds. Assign work orders to subordinate staff. Adjust schedules for assigned staff in the event of an emergency. Through use of trained skills not requiring a license, repair or supervise the repair of a variety of equipment which may include but is not limited to plumbing, heating, appliances, automotive, electrical, etc. Plan routines to insure assigned areas are maintained in accordance with standards. Complete maintenance records and quality assurance inspections on work performed by subordinates. Inspect and service equipment on preventative maintenance program. Recommend purchase of equipment or major repairs by outside tradesmen, as required. Interview and then supervise, evaluate, and discipline assigned staff. Purchase parts and supplies, securing approval for any major expenditure. Perform many related duties as assigned, such as waxing floors, moving furniture, etc. Operate and maintain agency heating and cooling systems. Display a sympathetic understanding of those who receive services from the agency. Perform other tasks (i.e. drive agency-owned vehicles, teach skills to small groups, etc.) as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds. Maintain ongoing compliance with all agency-related training and certification requirements. Respond per established procedures to all emergency situations including medical, behavioral, fire, severe weather, and other hazards. Operate agency or personal vehicle in accordance with established policies and procedures. Own, maintain, and use personal smartphone for company business in accordance with established policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Minimum five years hands-on general experience in mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and small appliance repair. Minimum three years supervisory experience. Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds or more. Illinois Class C commercial driver's license and driving record in accordance with agency policy. A post- offer physical and criminal background check required. Reliable transportation required. EOE.
Pay:
$30.00 per hour
