ASAP Hawk Chevrolet Cadillac in Joliet, Illinois is seeking an experienced, results-driven Service Manager to lead our fixed operations service team. This is a high-volume, high-performance department — currently producing between $250,000 and $300,000 in labor gross per month — and we are looking for a proven leader who can protect and grow that performance while delivering an exceptional ownership experience for every Chevrolet and Cadillac customer who visits our store. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Service Manager owns the day-to-day operation of the service department: our customers' experience, our team's development, and the financial health of the department. Front-of-house:
6-person service writer / advisor team Department performance: $250,000 - $300,000 in labor gross per month Support structure: Dedicated support already in place for dispatching, warranty review, and loaner fleet management Reports to: General Manager What You'll Do Achieve, maintain, and continually raise industry-leading Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores for both the Chevrolet and Cadillac brands. Lead, coach, and develop a team of 21 technicians, holding the shop to high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety. Direct and support a 6-person service writer/advisor team, ensuring consistent, professional, transparent customer interactions on every repair order. Oversee the department's dedicated dispatching, warranty review, and loaner fleet functions, keeping workflow, claims, and vehicle assignments running smoothly. Own the financial performance of the department — protecting and growing monthly labor gross, controlling expenses, and managing productivity, effective labor rate, and hours per repair order. Drive customer retention and repeat business through quality workmanship, clear communication, and fast, fair resolution of any concerns. Ensure full compliance with GM warranty policies, manufacturer programs, and dealership procedures. Partner with parts, sales, and the General Manager to keep fixed operations aligned with overall store goals. Recruit, train, schedule, and retain a high-performing service team, fostering a positive and accountable culture. What You'll Need A minimum of 5 years of verifiable Service Manager experience running the service department of an automotive dealership. A proven track record of achieving and sustaining strong CSI results. Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a large technician and advisor team in a high-volume environment. Solid understanding of service department financials, warranty administration, and fixed operations best practices. Strong leadership, communication, and customer-service skills. References required. Verifiable professional references will be requested as part of the hiring process. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred — Extra Consideration Given For Bilingual (English / Spanish) — candidates who speak both English and Spanish will receive strong preference, given the customers and team we serve. GM experience — direct General Motors service experience, including familiarity with GM warranty systems, training, and processes. Compensation & Benefits Salary range dependent on experience.
