Job Summary:
The Instrumentation and Electrical Supervisor is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and instrumentation equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the chemical manufacturing facility. This role supports production by ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities): Repair, installation and maintenance of all plant equipment, buildings, grounds and utilities with minimal supervision. Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and P&ID diagrams and manuals to effectively carry out job assignments. Maintain and calibrate various instrumentations installed in the facility, such as automated valves and metering devices. Understand and maintain site automation. Ability to troubleshoot, repair/replace and install new instrumentation devices. Working knowledge of electrical systems, 460/230/120 as well as plant lighting repairs and upgrades. Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and install new electrical piping and equipment heat trace systems. Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of plant PLC systems. Carry out electrical and/or instrumentation system repairs, installation and maintenance up to 480 volts and 3 phase motors down to low voltage signal installations and trouble shooting. Installation of new electrical services. Support operations technicians on task training in preventative maintenance and minor repairs. Works with other maintenance personnel to provide required support. Able to perform preventive maintenance and repairs of facility fleet vehicles. Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities): To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Required:
Seven+ years mechanical/electrical/ instrumentation maintenance experience in the chemical or manufacturing industry (Industrial trade school attendance may be considered work experience). High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Understanding of State and Federal OSHA and EPA industry standards. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word). Skills & Ability Electrical repair, installation and maintenance up to 480 volts/3 phase equipment. Instrumentation repair, installation and maintenance of digital and/or analog equipment. PLC ladder logic and programming. Experience supervising electrical/mechanical work. Experience estimating/pricing/bidding electrical work. Experience purchasing materials for mechanical/electrical work. Safety Expectations Maintain and promote safe practices and procedures in accordance with regulatory agencies. Ensure availability of personal protective equipment. Physical Demands and Work Environment Requires lifting and handling heavy objects; must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, crouch, reach, and have visual acuity. Ability to climb ladders and storage tank stairs (approx. 50' in height) for maintenance, inspection, and gauging operations. Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Able to wear PPE (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, respirator and safety work boots) as required. Available for on-call support and occasional off-hours task management. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work Monday - Friday (full-time). Available to troubleshoot and work with technicians during plant outage or shutdown to solve manufacturing and facility upsets. Travel Periodic travel to Milwaukee or Iowa to help other Rowell Facility teams to solve issues.
