CHICAGO LIGHTHOUSE CHARTER SCHOOL POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Custodian/Maintenance oversees and participates in the cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of school, offices and grounds. This role ensures that custodial/maintenance standards are met, supervises and supports custodial/maintenance staff, coordinates work assignments, and assists with special projects or events. The Lead Custodian/Maintenance also serves as the main point of contact for daily custodial operations which includes doing inventory, ordering and working with vendors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision & Leadership Train, coach, and mentor custodial/maintenance staff in proper cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and equipment use. Conduct regular inspections of facilities and address deficiencies promptly. Monitor daily cleaning duties and monitor work to ensure high standards of cleanliness. Cleaning & Maintenance Perform routine and deep cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing. Clean restrooms, replenish supplies, and maintain a hygienic environment. Empty trash, recycling, and compost containers as needed. Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely. Facility Care & Safety Identify and report maintenance issues such as leaks, lighting problems, or safety hazards. Coordinate with custodial/maintenance staff for repairs and preventative upkeep. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations. Event & Special Project Support Assist with setup and teardown for school events. Move furniture, equipment and supplies as needed. Recordkeeping & Communication Maintain supply inventories and submit requests for replenishment. Keep records of work performed and inspections. Serve as the primary liaison between custodial/maintenance staff and administration. Working Conditions Indoor and outdoor work environments. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment noise. Evening or weekend hours may be required for special events or emergencies.

$38,000.00
