Job Title:
Lead Maintenance Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Lead Maintenance Technician to uphold the highest standards in safety and good manufacturing practices throughout the plant. This role involves training and leading Operators, Mechanics, and Supervisors on technical procedures related to high-speed bottle manufacturing and packaging. Responsibilities Train and lead Operators, Mechanics, and Supervisors on technical procedures related to high-speed bottle manufacturing and packaging. Collaborate directly with plant leadership to develop and execute projects involving continuous improvement, upgrades, and resolution of recurring problems. Rapidly identify machine problems to minimize equipment downtime, conducting root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence. Lead Maintenance Technicians to resolve cross-functional issues. Utilize available software systems to analyze and identify issues, driving throughput performance. Define requirements and lead overhaul efforts to rebuild equipment to like-new status during planned downtime. Transfer knowledge to team members to develop operating and troubleshooting procedures in bottling production specialization. Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for troubleshooting machines and upload them to the BDA system. Ensure regular and predictable attendance, including on-call availability, to maintain equipment and facility uptime. Stand or walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment and lift up to 50 lbs. Possess own toolbox and basic tools. Essential Skills Experience with automation, electrical, and maintenance technician tasks. Proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting. Skills in preventive maintenance and mechanical systems. Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and robotics. Experience with HMI programming and Siemens PLC. Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, repair, and industrial refrigeration. Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC, process equipment, and Rockwell systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to read and interpret schematics: electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic. Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses. Proficiency with precision measuring equipment, such as calipers and dial indicators. Experience with Krones, Husky, Sidel, or other packaging or bottling equipment. Skilled in fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding (mig, tig, or stick). Proficiency with electrical systems including 480VAC & 24VDC power. Experience in the repair of variable frequency drives, servo motors, and controllers. Why Work Here? The position requires availability for the first shift, Monday to Friday, from 6:30 am to 3:30 pm, with on-call responsibilities. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Plainfield, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $44.00/hr.
