Summary Responsible for supervising the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, and issuing products or materials. Ensures that all supplies carried in the storeroom are properly stocked and inventoried. Enforces plant rules and safety policies and procedures including housekeeping. Responsibilities What You'll Do Manage, direct, develop, and supervise activities and initiatives to provide a safe work environment through the proper use of equipment, identification of hazards, sharing of knowledge and the development, implementation and enforcement of safety and housekeeping standards. Instructs crew regarding job requirements and methods of storing and inventorying materials. Ensures that necessary parts are on-hand for planned jobs and machine shutdowns Confers with department heads to coordinate staging of materials for maintenance outages, restocking levels, records control, or purchasing. Assigns crews to daily jobs based on work priorities and established schedules. Inspects physical condition of storeroom, and equipment and orders maintenance, repairs, or replacements. Completes requisitions for spare parts and special tools and submits via purchase order entry system. Provides leadership for personnel assigned to their department. Ensures that inventories of consumables are taken routinely and that materials consumed are replenished. Plans, develops, and implements storeroom safety and security programs and activities. Is responsible for safety OSHA recordable rate (RCR) of direct reports. Performs duties as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Superintendent. Qualifications What You Bring High School or GED. BS, BA, or other comparable certification preferred. Eighteen months of education and training beyond high school level in general maintenance and repair, or a closely related area. Experienced in utilizing CMMS systems Familiar with project management skills and knowledgeable in use of project management software Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Able to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
