Maintenance Supervisor The J.M. Smucker Company United States, Kansas, Emporia Aug 16, 2026 Your Opportunity as a (Technical) Maintenance Supervisor Supervise and train maintenance personnel in the upkeep of existing equipment and the installation of new equipment. Plan and direct engineering and maintenance activities for a work shift. Focus on meeting standards for quality, productivity, downtime, and defects.
Location:
1525 Industrial Rd, Emporia, KS 66801 (Hostess Manufacturing Plant)
Work Arrangements:
100% on-site, 2nd Shift, 3pm-11pm. Flexibility required. Willingness to work off shift (including nights, weekends, and/or holidays) and flow to the work as needed In this
Role You Will:
Provide problem solving expertise and root cause analysis to Operations Execute predictive and preventative PM programs Direct and deploy technical resources to repair or maintain equipment Build mastery level skills in advanced technicians, advanced technical skills in equipment owners, and basic technical and trouble-shooting skills in all technicians Ensure technical documentation, PMs, and spares for department equipment and systems are identified and in place Create necessary PMs and SOPs to properly maintain equipment and enable resources to execute work Provide technical expertise and guidance to technical resources within a department Collaborate with Area Leaders, Process Engineers, and Coordinators in the development of work plans that maximize sanitation and startup effectiveness and efficiency Administrator of timekeeping, attendance tracking, and payroll approval processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. Looking For:
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent 1 year of relevant experience supervising technical/maintenance individuals Demonstrated experience teaching and leading others 2 years of industrial maintenance experience Strong technical and mechanical ability, including problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role: Bachelor's degree in Engineering Prior experience in food manufacturing Project management experience Work Environment This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment and manufacturing sites can be loud.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to talk and hear. Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds frequently. May push and pull heavy objects.
