KS Job Overview & Essential Functions Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Service Foreman.
The role of the Service Foreman exercises directsupervisory responsibility assigned Service Technicians. Assists in diagnosis of mechanical difficulties and recommending needed repairs where applicable. Assists the Service Advisor in greeting customers, selling service labor, writing repairs orders, and estimates the costs of repairs within set guidelines. Daily supervision and performance management of service technicians. Schedule and assign work as required. Work with Service Manager in managing technicians and repair scheduling to maximize work efficiency and quality of work performed. Work with Service Advisor to scheduling work in the shop and communicate with customers. Check and review work in process to ensure completion is complete as scheduled to meet the customer's expectations. Work with the Service Manager in setting sales and gross profit objectives which are realistic and attainable. Inspect and road test (where applicable) vehicles upon repair completion to ensure quality of repairs performed. Keep the service administrative team advised of all warranty in process. Assure that all necessary information pertaining to warranty and policy claims are obtained and recorded on the repair order, and that all warranty parts are properly tagged and placed in the warranty room. Perform productive work as business needs dictate. Inform Service Manager of all customer complaints for resolution before the vehicle leaves the shop. Investigate policy expense and take appropriate action to prevent reoccurrence. Assist in maintaining a clean shop area and ensuring special tools and shop equipment are in proper operating condition. Promote safe work habits and environment. Report safety and security violations to the Service Manager. Keep the Branch, Office, and/or Service Manager informed of shop bills which might run over customer credit limits or will require approval. Pre-Plan parts requirements. Participate in training to stay current of warranty and technical issues. Assist in opening and closing repairs orders. Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
