Key Responsibilities:
Direct, organize, and oversee the overall operation of the Maintenance Department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Develop and implement maintenance programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures Coordinate daily maintenance services with related departments (e.g., Housekeeping, Dietary, Nursing, Activities) Prioritize and manage unscheduled maintenance tasks to ensure resident comfort and facility functionality Maintain the facility's equipment, grounds, and property through scheduled and preventive maintenance programs Ensure compliance with safety regulations, perform regular safety inspections, and oversee fire protection and prevention programs Coordinate and monitor external maintenance services to ensure they meet required standards Prepare and submit reports to the Administrator, including accident and incident reports Participate in facility surveys and audits, ensuring corrective actions for any maintenance deficiencies Manage the department's inventory, supplies, and equipment to ensure efficient operations
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Experience in maintenance; healthcare setting experience is a plus Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, heating, air conditioning, and the ability to perform minor carpentry and renovations Strong ability to make independent decisions when required Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with all facility levels, residents, and external partners Ability to work in various conditions, including cramped spaces and adverse weather conditions Must be able to work on-call for emergencies and during weekends or holidays if needed Experience working with elderly, disabled, or emotionally upset individuals is preferred We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
