Car Service Manager (Lead Mechanic)
Job DescriptionThis is a high-trust, high-autonomy position. You will be the face of the shop to customers and the backbone of operations for our crew. The right person thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly with both technicians and customers, and takes pride in running a tight, efficient shop.

What You'll Do
- Run daily operations
- open and close the shop, set the pace, and keep things moving
- Schedule and dispatch work
- assign jobs to techs based on skill, workload, and priority
- Handle service writing
- greet customers, write repair orders, communicate estimates, and follow up on approvals
- Manage parts and inventory
- order parts, manage vendor relationships, and keep the shop stocked efficiently
- Hire and develop staff
- recruit, onboard, and evaluate technicians and support staff as needed
- Approve estimates
- review and authorize repair scopes, ensuring accuracy and profitability
- Enforce quality control
- perform final checks, ensure work meets standards before vehicle delivery
- Serve as the owner's eyes on the floor

- Experience with shop management software (Pace/YES, AllData, IDentifix, etc.
