Job Description
Job Summary The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the multi-faceted operation of all maintenance-related work. Not only will you be required to oversee the supervision and safety of Darling and Contractor maintenance crews on all shifts, but will also need to develop and implement corrective & preventive maintenance procedures within the plant, as well as handling sourcing and maintaining the facility's spare parts inventory. Ensure that the staff and location are working in compliance with all Company, State or Federal OSHA Safety Policies and Practices. Leads, trains, and implements maintenance processes and operations. Develops, assigns, and implements repair schedules, taking production activities into account. Evaluates repair cost estimates and return of dollars expended. Proficient with computer-based CMMS systems, schedules, and capabilities. Evaluates CMMS-based reports, making decisions based on these reports and communicates actions to staff as well as local and regional management. Proficient in developing Standard Operating Procedures for staff and contractors. Evaluates and implements any correction actions necessary to resolve mechanical and/or building problems that may arise in the plant. Forecasts needs, sources through competitive bids, and maintains appropriate spare parts inventory. Proficient and is able to provide or source technical guidance in maintenance craft categories, (i.e. troubleshooting, installation, PLC logic controls (hardware and software), preventive maintenance, electrical, fabrication). Evaluates and decides using technical specifications provided on equipment data sheets to base installation or performance decisions. Responsible for training new personnel on Company safety procedures and safe operating standards in accordance with OSHA. Responsible for cleanliness and sanitation of maintenance equipment, shops, spare parts storage, and common areas. All other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree (or Vocational Technical Degree) in related field. Minimum of 3-5+ years of management experience in an industrial setting. Demonstrated knowledge or prior work experience in the areas of industrial electrical, mechanical and preventive / predictive maintenance procedures. Must be proficient using
