Job Description

We are committed to finding and placing the best hospitality talent in the industry! HSS is seeking a Maintenance Manager for our client located in the Ocean City, MD area. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all engineering and maintenance operations for a resort property. This role is responsible for maintaining the building, grounds, mechanical systems, and overall physical plant to ensure a safe, efficient, and exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience managing preventative maintenance and capital improvement projects within a hotel or resort environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across the property Maintain HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, water treatment, and life safety systems Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs and schedules Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and brand standards Manage maintenance budgets, departmental expenses, and capital projects Inspect facilities and determine repair, replacement, and renovation needs Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers on repair projects and services Supervise and support engineering staff in daily operations and repairs Maintain accurate logs, records, and maintenance documentation Ensure building exterior, grounds, and curb appeal standards are maintained Handle guest maintenance concerns and resolve issues promptly Recruit, train, coach, and develop maintenance team members Conduct departmental meetings and maintain clear communication with staff Foster a safe, clean, and organized work environment Support hotel emergency preparedness and life safety initiatives Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance leadership experience in hospitality or resort operations Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical systems Experience managing preventative maintenance and capital projects Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues efficiently Experience managing budgets and departmental expenses Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays Physical ability to lift equipment, use ladders/lifts, and work throughout the property as needed Strong commitment to guest service and operational excellence Compensation The pay range for this position is $85,000-$95,000 and based on experience. Additional compensation may include discretionary bonus opportunities. Benefits This is a Direct Hire position with our client. They offer Medical, Dental, Vision, and additional company benefits.
