Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and safety-focused individual to join Irving Forest Products, Inc. as our new Team Leader, Maintenance. In this role, you will oversee and guide our maintenance team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our sawmill. Your leadership and expertise will be instrumental in driving a culture of continuous improvement and maintaining the highest safety standards.

Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a sawmill, wood products, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment. Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees in a collaborative work environment. Extensive knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, equipment reliability, preventive maintenance programs, and troubleshooting techniques. Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, including knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and behavior-based safety programs. Strong problem-solving, process improvement, and analytical skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and implement effective solutions. Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and maintenance priorities while maintaining cost-effective operations. Proficiency with maintenance management systems (CMMS), data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office applications; experience with maintenance software is considered an asset. Excellent organizational, prioritization, time management, and multitasking skills, with strong attention to detail. Strong mathematical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and pursue ongoing professional and career development. Understanding and experience with continuous improvement methodologies is considered an asset. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as required. Provide leadership in safety, quality, cost management, and employee engagement while fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing maintenance team environment. Supervise, mentor, and develop maintenance personnel, providing coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and performance. Oversee daily maintenance operations, ensuring timely and effective completion of repairs, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment modifications. Prioritize maintenance activities and allocate resources effectively to minimize downtime, maximize equipment reliability, and support production objectives. Collaborate closely with production teams, supervisors, and managers to optimize equipment performance and ensure production specifications, schedules, and quality standards are achieved. Analyze production and maintenance trends to identify issues, recommend solutions, and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance and equipment reliability. Support, manage, and ensure the preventive maintenance program is effectively executed and maintained on schedule. Conduct equipment inspections and implement proactive maintenance strategies to prevent failures, improve asset reliability, and extend equipment life. Develop and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring efficient and cost-effective use of labor, materials, and resources. Enforce safety policies and procedures, conduct regular safety audits and training, and ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations. Communicate effectively with management and other stakeholders by providing updates on maintenance activities, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives. Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, implementing innovative maintenance methods to support operational excellence. Perform other duties and special projects as required to support the goals of the maintenance department and the overall success of the mill.Benefits
