Schedules repairs and work orders. Ensures repairs are done properly. Communicates status of equipment and repairs to appropriate team members. Specifies and orders all maintenance supplies such as hydraulic oils and greases for plant equipment Maintains spare parts and tracks inventory and usage electronically. Establishes, follows and is responsible for preventative maintenance program at the location(s). Participates as an active member of the Safety Committee. May oversee construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications. Oversees the maintenance of all building alarm systems. Ensures the building and grounds appearance is maintained to a level that provides a good/favorable impression of the company. Coordinate the use of the Maintenance Department labor for new equipment installations and modifications with the Engineering Department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The number of direct reports varies depending upon the location. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the location's Maintenance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred. 7-10 years related experience in mechanical, hydraulics and electrical within a manufacturing environment (preferably in the automotive industry). 1-3 years of experience in a leadership position Maintenance or Journeyman Electrician Certification preferred. Knowledge of machines and tools, uses, repair and maintenance. Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong problem solving and analytical skills; excellent business planning and resource allocation skills to meet goals. Ability to build and maintain strong teams. Proven experience with creating and maintaining Preventative Maintenance program. Lean experience including TPM, 5S and Tool Management.
