Job Description

Maintenance Superintedent Confidential Canton, MI 48187 Full-time Full-time Essential responsibilities : Lead and supervise maintenance technicians, electricians, and maintenance supervisors. Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Coordinate emergency repairs and troubleshooting of production equipment. Drive improvements in equipment uptime, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and reliability. Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and outside contractors. Support launch activities for new production lines and equipment. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies. Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and tooling departments. Analyze maintenance KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. Support TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and root-cause analysis efforts. The number of direct reports varies depending upon the location. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the location's Maintenance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or a related field (sometimes equivalent experience is accepted). 5-10+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience. 2-5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience. Experience with automotive manufacturing processes such as stamping, welding, assembly, injection molding, paint, or machining. PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) Robotics (Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa) Hydraulics and pneumatics CMMS systems Reliability-centered maintenance Lean Manufacturing and TPM Familiarity with automotive quality standards such as
IATF 16949.
