About Us:
We are a fast-growing construction and property maintenance company specializing in residential renovations, rental property maintenance, turnovers, and repair projects throughout the Lansing area. We are not a corporate construction company. Our environment is fast-paced, hands-on, and results-driven. We manage multiple active job sites at once and take pride in solving problems quickly, maintaining high standards, and keeping projects moving. We are looking for a strong field leader who can organize crews, manage projects, hold teams accountable, and make smart decisions in real time. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in the field — not behind a desk.
Position Overview:
The Field Manager will oversee daily field operations across multiple renovation and maintenance projects. This role is responsible for crew coordination, job site management, subcontractor oversight, scheduling, quality control, material coordination, and field accountability. The ideal candidate is highly organized, decisive, resourceful, and capable of managing multiple moving pieces at once while maintaining professionalism and urgency. This is a hands-on leadership role where decision-making, team management, and operational excellence are critical.
Responsibilities:
Daily Planning & Field Coordination Develop and manage daily work schedules with clear "Who, Where, What" assignments Organize labor assignments and coordinate activities across multiple active job sites Ensure crews arrive prepared, productive, and working efficiently Coordinate project timelines, subcontractors, inspections, and daily field priorities Project Oversight Conduct regular site visits, progress checks, and quality inspections Identify challenges early and troubleshoot issues in real time to keep projects moving Ensure work is completed properly, efficiently, and to company standards Maintain accountability for timelines, workmanship, cleanliness, and job completion Monitor labor productivity and field performance across projects Resource, Logistics & Inventory Management Assess labor, material, and time requirements for projects and turnovers Plan and coordinate material purchases, pickups, deliveries, and staging Manage inventory, tools, equipment, trailers, and company vehicles Coordinate logistics between job sites, suppliers, crews, and storage locations Reduce downtime caused by poor planning, missing materials, or disorganization Team & Subcontractor Management Lead, supervise, motivate, and hold field staff accountable Coach team members on productivity, workmanship, professionalism, and company standards Manage subcontractor relationships, scopes of work, scheduling, and quality control Help build a culture of urgency, accountability, and problem-solving Communication & Reporting Track project progress, labor usage, schedules, and field challenges Prepare and deliver updates to company leadership regarding project status, staffing needs, delays, and resource requirements Document important job site issues, decisions, photos, and solutions for future reference Communicate professionally with vendors, subcontractors, tenants, and property owners when needed Ensure leadership receives timely updates regarding delays, risks, and operational needs Qualifications 3+ years of experience in residential construction, renovations, maintenance, and project management Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple active job sites and shifting priorities simultaneously Ability to assess and plan labor, materials, timelines, and project logistics accurately Hands-on knowledge of residential renovations and property maintenance Experience coordinating crews, subcontractors, deliveries, tools, vehicles, and schedules Comfortable using smartphones, photos, text communication, scheduling software, and job management systems throughout the day Strong communication and field decision-making skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation High school diploma or equivalent; additional construction certifications are a plus
