The Chief Engineer oversees the operation, repair, and maintenance of all buildings, equipment, and systems on the property.
Job Duties:
Staff Management Lead and supervise daily operations, ensuring adequate staffing, service quality, and guest satisfaction. Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and compliance with hotel policies. Monitor staff appearance, conduct, and work area standards to maintain a professional environment. Promote teamwork, open communication, and timely resolution of guest and staff concerns. Training Implement and facilitate new hire orientation and ongoing departmental training. Ensure all associates are trained on safety, emergency, and hotel operating procedures. Monitor and update training programs to maintain compliance with brand and hotel standards. Foster a culture of continuous learning, development, and service excellence. Administrative Manage departmental budgets, payroll, and expenses in line with financial goals. Conduct regular inspections, audits, and meetings to ensure operational efficiency. Collaborate with other hotel departments to support smooth operations and guest satisfaction. Prepare reports, maintain logs, and communicate key updates to management. Maintenance Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs for all hotel systems and facilities. Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, safety, and sanitation regulations. Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and capital projects to optimize cost and quality. Maintain technical proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and energy systems. Among other responsibilities assigned.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Must have 5 years maintenance experience and 3 years supervisory experience. Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must have a clean driving record. Position requires basic skills in the following: Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Electrical Mechanical Plumbing Pneumatic/Electronic Systems & Controls Carpentry & Finish Skills Kitchen Equipment Energy conservation
General Building Schedule:
Flexible to include day, evening, weekday, weekend, and on-call shifts.

From $60,000.00 per year
