Plant Reliability & Maintenance Manager Angstrom Automotive - USA Taylor, MI Job Details $80,000 - $90,000 a year 3 hours ago Qualifications Vendor relationship building Full Job Description Lead the heartbeat of manufacturing Picture the start of your shift: you open the plant dashboard, scan OEE and uptime against targets, and kick off a quick HSE-first safety huddle. A line ping comes in—an equipment fault. You triage, guide troubleshooting, and get production moving again. Before lunch, you review preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, check 5S conditions on the floor, and align with Production on the day's priorities. The afternoon brings a contractor walk-through for an expansion project, a spare-parts inventory check, and a daily production meeting where you commit to corrective actions. Throughout, you're documenting per SOPs, tracking
MTTR/MTBF
trends, and ensuring the facility meets Environmental and
IATF 16949
standards. What you will own Maximize machine uptime and OEE in line with company expectations; drive continual improvement. Champion employee and equipment safety as the top priority; follow and enforce HSE guidelines. Troubleshoot equipment and machinery issues to keep production running smoothly. Coordinate closely with Production to support company objectives and daily output commitments. Plan, install, commission, and maintain machinery and related equipment. Oversee and direct work performed by external contractors when needed. Maintain records and trend charts per SOPs and the Quality Management System (QMS). Ensure departmental adherence to company policies, including all safety regulations. Own facility maintenance and assist with plant expansion projects and layout changes. Schedule and execute preventive and predictive maintenance; document all activities. Train, direct, develop, supervise, and periodically evaluate team members. Ensure compliance with Environmental standards and the quality system standard
IATF 16949.
Lead and complete emergency repairs on plant equipment across the entire facility. Uphold excellent housekeeping through 5S at all times. Partner with Purchasing for required spares, tooling, and supplies; manage vendor interactions. Maintain critical spare parts inventory for all key machinery. Foster total employee involvement and gather improvement suggestions. Achieve departmental goals; improve MTTR and MTBF through structured problem-solving. Take timely corrective actions on safety, maintenance, and process-related issues. Participate in daily production meetings and follow through on assigned actions. Follow standard practices and all applicable laws and regulations for powered equipment. Manage new machine installations, relocation of existing assets, and execution of new plant layouts. Perform other duties as assigned. What you bring Hands-on expertise troubleshooting industrial equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proven ability to plan and execute PM/PdM programs with robust recordkeeping. Experience supervising, coaching, and evaluating a maintenance team. Demonstrated success overseeing contractors and coordinating with cross-functional partners. Knowledge of QMS practices, SOP management, Environmental standards, and
IATF 16949.
Familiarity with 5S, OEE, MTTR, and MTBF, and improving them through data-driven action. Skill in planning installations, relocations, and efficient plant layouts. Strong inventory stewardship for critical spares and collaboration with Purchasing. Commitment to HSE and regulatory compliance for powered industrial equipment. Bias for action and continuous improvement; readiness to jump into emergency repairs when needed.
