MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
(Current State - Single Facility)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations for a single production line and facility. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role that ensures equipment reliability, supports technicians, and maintains safe, efficient plant operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Technician Leadership & Daily Execution Directly supervise maintenance technicians across assigned shifts Schedule, assign, and prioritize daily work orders and repair activities Conduct shift handoffs to communicate equipment status, open work orders, and safety concerns Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for mechanical and electrical issues Monitor technician performance and provide coaching and feedback Maintain accountability for work quality, completion, and responsiveness 2. Maintenance & Equipment Reliability Oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment Establish KPIs (uptime, PM completion, response time, etc.) and track performance Execute and maintain a preventive maintenance (PM) program Identify and address recurring equipment issues to improve uptime Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and modifications Support basic root cause analysis on equipment failures 3. Production Coordination Partner with production leadership to minimize downtime Respond quickly to breakdowns and prioritize critical repairs Communicate equipment status and risks clearly to operations 4. Parts Procurement & Inventory Manage spare parts inventory to ensure critical components are available Maintain organized parts room and maintenance shop Process purchase orders and track incoming parts Support vendor interactions for parts sourcing as needed 5. Facility Maintenance (Day-to-Day) Oversee general facility upkeep including lighting, minor electrical, and basic repairs Coordinate external contractors for specialized work when required Support facility organization and cleanliness standards 6. Lift Equipment & Support Systems Support maintenance and inspection of forklifts and powered equipment Track service records and coordinate repairs when needed 7. Safety & Compliance Enforce safety standards including LOTO, PPE, and safe work practices Participate in safety training and ensure team compliance Support incident investigations and corrective actions Maintain required maintenance documentation and compliance records
TEAM STRUCTURE
Direct reports: Maintenance Technicians (4) Reports to: Senior Operations Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Prior leadership or lead technician experience preferred Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Experience with CMMS systems Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment
