In this hands-on leadership position, you will actively work alongside your team while supervising daily operations in a fast-paced environment producing high-quality components for aerospace, tooling, automation, and automotive. You will lead a team of machinists and fabricators, ensure production targets are met, maintain quality and safety standards, and contribute directly to machining tasks. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate skilled and semi-skilled employees in machining, CNC operations, and processing. Act as a working foreman : set up and operate CNC mills; perform machining, programming, and interact with customers. Review blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to plan jobs, determine machining sequences, and create tool paths/process sheets. Write and optimize CNC programs (experience with MasterCAM, WorkNC, or Gibbs preferred). Ensure parts meet tight tolerances using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) and strong GD&T knowledge. Maintain equipment through preventative maintenance and minor repairs. Enforce safety procedures, quality assurance standards, and 5S practices. Lead, coach, and develop team members; manage priorities, shift handoffs, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with management to resolve issues, improve processes, and meet customer expectations. Track jobs, document actions, and communicate effectively across teams. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 10+ years of hands-on machining and shop experience, including setup, programming, and operation of manual and CNC mills. Minimum 2+ years of plant floor supervision or leadership experience. Strong background in metal fabrication (press brake forming, laser cutting, TIG/MIG welding, shearing, finishing) is highly desired. Proficient in reading blueprints, GD&T, and using Solidworks software. Experience with MasterCAM, WorkNC, or Giibs. Haas, Mazak, or Fanuc controls preferred. Ability to operate cranes and lift up to 50+ lbs. Physically capable of standing for long periods (10+ hours), bending, squatting, kneeling, and moving quickly in a shop environment. High School Diploma or GED required; technical training or college courses preferred. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and customer-focused skills. Aerospace, automotive, defense, or tooling experience is a plus.
