Job Description
Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled RV Shop Handyman/Foreman to lead maintenance, repair, and operational tasks within our busy RV manufacturing company. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily shop activities, coordinate repairs, and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality. As a vital team leader, you will utilize your mechanical expertise to troubleshoot issues, perform repairs, and guide a team of technicians to deliver exceptional service. Your hands-on approach and leadership will keep our RVs in top condition, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Duties Lead daily shop operations, assigning tasks and supervising maintenance and repair work for recreational vehicles (RVs). Perform mechanical repairs on RV systems, including woodworking, plumbing, low-voltage electrical, HVAC, and hydraulic systems using hand tools, power tools and aluminum welding equipment. Ensure compliance with safety regulations by maintaining a clean workspace, adhering to safety protocols during manual handling and mechanical work. Oversee inventory management of parts and tools necessary for repairs; coordinate with suppliers for parts procurement when needed. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair statuses clearly and addressing customer inquiries professionally. Assist with hiring, maintaining and training shop talent Experience Experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, welding/fabrication is required while focus on RVs is preferred, but not required. Mechanical knowledge is a must, and experience in slide-out mechanisms, hydraulic systems as well as cabinet building are highly preferred, but MUST be willing to learn quickly. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, schematic reading, and diagnostic testing devices like ohmmeters. Familiarity with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) practices within a workshop environment. Knowledge of safety regulations related to mechanical repair work; ability to enforce safety standards consistently. The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory or foreman experience; leadership skills are a must. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer-focused attitude to ensure high-quality service delivery with a sharp budget in mind.
