Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Staff member to join our team. This role involves performing a wide range of maintenance tasks across a Public Housing Authority including apartment building and scattered site single family homes. This is a solo maintenance role for a 50 unit Public Housing Authority. Repair and upkeep are essential to the role, janitorial duties include trash removal and cleaning in the common areas. Responsibilities Perform routine and emergency maintenance on household and apartment systems including plumbing Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using schematics, multimeters. Conduct repairs involving residential painting, electrical work, and mechanical adjustments. Ensure safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate maintenance records and update systems regularly. Lead small teams or supervise contractors during complex projects or repairs. Assist in the installation of new equipment or upgrades following schematics and technical specifications. Ensure compliance with safety standards and participate in safety training sessions. Provide excellent customer service to internal clients by addressing maintenance needs promptly. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance within housing settings. Strong knowledge base with skills in plumbing, residential painting and drywall, and general repair work. Electrical experience including troubleshooting. Supervising experience demonstrating leadership capabilities in a maintenance environment. Excellent communication skills in English for effective collaboration across teams. Knowledge of safety procedures related to electrical work, welding, and general facility maintenance. Ability to work independently or as part of a team while managing multiple tasks efficiently. This Maintenance Staff position is integral to maintaining the safety, functionality, and efficiency of our operations. Willingness to acknowledge personal limits and call in assistance.
Pay:
$21.00 - $25.00 per hourBenefits:
