Job Description
The City of Hibbing is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Lead - Facilities to help maintain and improve City-owned buildings, grounds, and building systems. This hands-on leadership position performs and coordinates maintenance involving HVAC, boilers, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical systems, and general facility operations while providing day-to-day work direction, assisting with scheduling, coordinating contractors, and promoting safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in facility maintenance, strong troubleshooting and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team. Associate degree in Facility Management, Building Maintenance, Construction Technology, HVAC, Mechanical Systems, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in facility maintenance, building operations, construction, mechanical maintenance, or a related field. Valid Minnesota driver's license required. Must possess and maintain a Minnesota Class 2-C Boiler Engineer License or higher. Forklift Certification required within one (1) year of hire. CPR/First Aid Certification required within one (1) year of hire. Safety-sensitive position subject to random drug, alcohol, and cannabis testing.
