About The Position
The Vegetation Supervisor is responsible for the reliability of Ameren transmission as it relates to vegetation, primarily through field administration of contracts with outside contractors engaged in vegetation management activities, while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan, schedule, inspect, evaluate and document all aspects of vegetation maintenance work to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Supervise, direct, coordinate, and evaluate vegetation management contractors to ensure policies and guidelines are followed and productivity is consistent with expenditures.
- Direct program activities as defined in annual plan, manage scope, monitor results and take appropriate action to achieve desired outcomes.
- Listen and respond to customer calls/requests.
- Field check, record, and process information relating to trouble reports.
- Assess and forecast budget requirements including tracking and reporting of budget data through project completion.
- Identify, communicate and implement best practices and develop effective strategies to meet objectives and improve operations.
- Assist in storm and emergency situations.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in Forestry or related field from an accredited college or university preferred. Five or more years of experience in Forestry/Horticulture required. Five or more years of experience in the utility line clearance industry with a knowledge of overhead construction preferred. Must be able to successfully secure & maintain International Society of Arboriculture certified arborist certification within one year of acceptance. In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Working knowledge of regulatory compliance and NERC standards preferred. Good leadership, decision-making, communication, and human relations skills, particularly relating to customer relationships required. Will require the use of personal vehicle, CDL classification is preferred. Applicants must take the First Line Supervisor Test and obtain a recommended status in order to be eligible for an interview. Additional Information
Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
Compensation Range:
$88,500.00 - $137,200.00 At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
