JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and effective use of department resources to coordinate maintenance activities at the plant. Essential functions of this position include assigning work priority, developing job plans, defining parts and materials and supervising department maintenance mechanics. N collaboration with the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will prioritize maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide department supervision to ensure work efficiency and quality craftsmanship
Troubleshoot problems causing delays of tasks and projects where a high level of technical knowledge and capability are required
Review work requests and work orders and update work orders to appropriate status
Develop work procedures for maintenance jobs with necessary information; including skills, tasks, parts, tools, auxiliary equipment, contractors, and estimated time required
Determine required manpower and parts/materials on each work order and verify availability before scheduling
Determine the need for special support equipment and inform Maintenance Manager
Coordinate with buyers to identify material requirements, generate purchase orders and coordinate delivery
Review department schedule and recommend work order start dates based on priorities and production needs
Review completed PMs and update changes to part lists and tasks
Create and maintain standard task list for PMs and frequent jobs
Work with the Maintenance Manager to develop and monitor KPI's for maintenance
Work with maintenance manager, tradesmen, operations and production scheduling to coordinate maintenance shutdown schedule with the production schedule
Monitor in progress work being completed to understand status of ongoing work, including delays and overruns
log management including weekly and monthly backlog reviews and purging aged work orders as required
Promote and maintain safe work environment through compliance with plant safety program
Perform all other work as required by the Company

Position Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
Five years of technical maintenance experience with one year of supervisory experience required
Working knowledge of Ammonia Refrigeration Systems required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written required
Ability to lead and supervise fairly, firmly and consistently
Ability to interact and to manage conflict while maintaining composure and perspective
Troubleshooting skills to identify, define and solve problems, and to coach team member to do the same
Strong organizational skills and the ability to focus on details required
Strong initiative and the ability to work with others to achieve desired results
Working knowledge of MRO materials and equipment
Understanding of plant and facility equipment
Understanding of material procurement process
Thorough understanding of maintenance procedures and processes
Working knowledge of CMMS (MP2) (JDE) systems
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word
