Job Description
KC Hide Inc., a hide processing company, seeks a hands-on and detail-oriented Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance requirements at our production plant. This person will report to the Plant Manager and ensure all equipment is fully operational and up to par.
Responsibilities:
Day Shift Required (7 am to 3:30 pm); some Saturdays and second shift coverage as needed by the company . Perform routine and preventative maintenance is on all equipment Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs to equipment Oversee equipment and site improvements Supervise maintenance department team members when the Director is not present Maintain all monthly equipment maintenance & repair documentation in accordance with company policy. Coordinate work tasks with the Plant Manager and Director of Maintenance Ensure each system is working at maximum output and perform necessary tasks to bring underperforming equipment up to full capacity. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation. Oversee the repair and maintenance of all equipment, including buildings and grounds, are completed in a timely manner in accordance with production schedules. Evaluate Team Members for merit reviews and performance coaching. Maintain a safe work environment and oversee the implementation of all safety policies, programs, and procedures. Plan, implement, and coordinate various training and continuing education programs for maintenance team members. Trains production workers on best practices when working with the machines. Maintains inventories, track work order history, and equipment status to continually plan preventive maintenance activities. Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations set forth by the Company and its Safety Department. Available as needed in case of emergency equipment failure.Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail Robust mechanical skills Hydraulic and pneumatic repair; preferred 3 phase AC and DC electrical testing; preferred Forklift repair; preferred Variable Frequency Drives and Motor Soft Starters; preferred Welding and metal fabrication; preferred Ability to effectively use hand tools Ability to sit or stand for an entire shift Requires intermittent periods of bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, walking, and stooping Ability to work additional hours and some Saturdays as required Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (heavy emphasis on Outlook, Teams, and Excel) The ability to analyze situations and equipment and create response plans Skilled in analyzing information and creating reports Must be self-motivated and goal oriented Ability to lead and train a team Must be well-organized Ability to multi-task and develop action plans Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment In-depth knowledge of system maintenance Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Familiarity with safety standards and regulations General construction and plumbing knowledge Mobile equipment repair and service experience a plus Hydraulic troubleshooting and repair a plus Ability to think outside the box Self-motivated Respectful Teamwork and Collaboration skillsPreferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or 2-5 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience working in hide preparationJob Type:
