Job Description

Position Summary:
The Maintenance Manager oversees all aspects of equipment, facility, and grounds maintenance for a fast-paced manufacturing plant specializing in pre-engineered metal buildings. This position is responsible for developing and executing preventative maintenance programs, managing maintenance staff, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring the plant operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, train, and supervise the maintenance team to support manufacturing operations. Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs for equipment, including roll formers, CNC machines, plasma cutters, forklifts, overhead cranes, and welding machinery. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Maintain the facility's structural integrity and safe operating condition, including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and roofing. Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability. Manage spare parts inventory, tools, and vendor relationships to ensure timely repair and cost control. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other safety and environmental regulations. Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, including capital improvement planning. Track maintenance KPIs and use data to recommend and implement process improvements. Coordinate external contractors for specialized repairs or projects when necessary.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical/electrical engineering, or related field preferred. 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role. Prior experience in the metal building, steel fabrication, or structural components industry is highly preferred. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and crane systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals. Proficient in using CMMS software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing environment with exposure to high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, and airborne particles. Must be able to lift 75 lbs., bend, squat, kneel, sit, and/or stand for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
