Job Summary
USCS LLC
is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Grounds Maintenance to oversee all operations supporting a federal grounds maintenance contract at Columbus Air Force Base and associated facilities . This position is responsible for managing field operations, ensuring strict contract compliance, coordinating crews, and delivering all grounds maintenance services in accordance with Air Force standards, safety requirements, and Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements . This is a mission-critical role supporting a secure military installation. Key Responsibilities Manage daily grounds maintenance operations across Air Force installation sites Ensure full compliance with PWS requirements, safety standards, and federal contract guidelines Supervise mowing, trimming, edging, and airfield-adjacent vegetation control Oversee bush hogging, brush clearing, and storm damage cleanup operations Coordinate work on restricted and controlled-access military property Manage crew schedules, production tracking, and task completion reporting Ensure proper use and accountability of equipment, fuel, and materials Conduct quality control inspections to meet Air Force standards Communicate with government representatives, inspectors, and contract officials Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and compliance records Support emergency response and rapid cleanup operations when required Train and supervise field crews in safety and operational procedures Required Qualifications Experience managing grounds maintenance, landscaping, or public works operations Strong leadership experience supervising field crews Ability to manage multiple job sites and production schedules Experience with equipment such as mowers, tractors, bush hogs, and trailers Strong understanding of safety procedures and operational compliance Ability to work in a structured, military-style contract environment Strong communication, reporting, and organizational skills Preferred Experience Prior experience on federal, military, or government contracts (DOD preferred) Knowledge of SCA wage compliance and federal labor requirements Experience working on airfields or high-security environments Background in storm cleanup, emergency response, or large-scale land management CDL or heavy equipment certifications Work Includes Airfield grounds maintenance and safety zone upkeep Routine mowing and landscape management across base facilities Brush clearing and vegetation control Storm response and debris removal operations Equipment oversight and field production management Coordination of multiple crews across secure locations Compensation Competitive pay based on experience Long-term federal contract stability Growth opportunity as additional government contracts are awarded Performance-based advancement opportunities
