Job Description

Maintenance Planner Maintenance Planner Position Overview The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining effective maintenance plans and schedules to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support safe, compliant food production. This role coordinates work execution across maintenance crews and production, manages spare parts and work orders in SAP (or CMMS), and drives continuous improvement and compliance with food safety and GMP requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for production equipment and utilities to optimize uptime and reliability. Create, prioritize and release detailed work orders in SAP PM (or the site CMMS), including scope, labor, materials and safety instructions. Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities with production, maintenance technicians and external contractors to minimize production impact and ensure timely completion. Manage spare parts and consumables inventory levels, recommend stocking improvements and support procurement to ensure critical parts availability. Support plant shutdowns, turnarounds and major projects by preparing detailed job plans, resources and materials lists and coordinating execution. Inspect and review completed maintenance work for quality and compliance, update equipment history and maintenance records in SAP. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety, GMP, lockout/tagout, confined space and other site safety and hygiene requirements. Maintain accurate documentation, drawings and standard operating procedures related to maintenance tasks and ensure documentation is accessible to the team. Train and mentor maintenance technicians on planned work procedures, safe work practices and proper use of
SAP/CMMS.
Qualifications Minimum 3+ years experience as a Maintenance Planner or similar role, preferably in food manufacturing or a highly regulated process industry. Proven experience using SAP (PM module) or other CMMS for work order management, preventive maintenance and inventory control. Strong understanding of production equipment (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and basic electrical systems) and ability to interpret technical drawings and P&IDs. Excellent planning, prioritization and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and shutdown schedules. Analytical skills to track maintenance KPIs and drive continuous improvement and reliability projects. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate across maintenance, production, procurement and contractors. Benefits Medical Dental and Vision 401k Bonus opportunities!
