Summary:
The Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing the daily performance of the maintenance shop and is responsible for supporting operational staff and driver needs in a timely and effective manner. The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, deep knowledge of diesel systems, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
Essential Functions:
Ensure shop floor operations are running smoothly and drive maintenance priorities in coordination and support of the maintenance management team. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on tractor-trailers and fleet vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems. Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to ensure vehicle safety and reliability. Execute annual vehicle inspections in accordance with CFR 49, Part 396; ensuring compliance with federal regulations. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation of work performed Perform related duties as assigned Knowledge and Experience 2+ years verifiable experience in a repair facility or a 2-year degree from an accredited school and one year verifiable experience preferred. HS diploma, GED
