We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Director of Fleet Maintenance, based out of our Kernersville, NC office. The Director of Fleet Maintenance provides leadership and management of the fleet maintenance department to ensure that all equipment is maintained in accordance with company and DOT requirements. Our Director of Fleet Maintenance will oversee shop operations in both our Kernersville, NC and South Point, OH locations, while maintaining oversight of equipment and maintenance at our other off-site locations throughout the Southeast and beyond. We are looking for a determined, passionate leader with experience in leading and developing a diverse team, while supporting us operationally in our goals, growth opportunity, and objectives. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Oversight of the management of fleet maintenance personnel in the routine and preventive needs of company owned and leased equipment in accordance with company and DOT requirements for all locations. Oversight of compliance in the maintenance department of all fleet equipment to meet company safety compliance, DOT, OSHA, EPA and any other government regulatory agencies, including any required reporting and paperwork. Financial responsibility for the budget for fleet maintenance including but not limited to the management of purchased outside maintenance services, company tire program, parts inventory, warranty and damaged equipment claims. Assists in the procurement of future equipment purchases Minimizes organizational cost through standardization and tracking of completed services Oversight of equipment files, records, licenses, inspections, warranties and service agreements for the organization's transportation related equipment and tools per company and DOT regulations. Manages and utilizes company maintenance software Assist Human Resources in the hiring of fleet maintenance employees and provide training to new and existing employees. Responsible for performance appraisals and disciplinary action with employees in accordance with company policy and procedures.
Educational / Experience
Requirements Minimum of five years' experience in a management role or equivalent combination of education and experience and a minimum of five years experience with diesel truck maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience Must have thorough knowledge and experience with DOT and OSHA regulations and reporting requirements.
