JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for providing assistance and leading by example for other maintenance staff. Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Lead by example in training maintenance staff, and ensuring that maintenance techs are performing duties as assigned. Refer performance issues to maintenance supervisor. Monitor production areas on an ongoing basis to ensure equipment is functioning properly. Maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment as needed. Assist with installation of new equipment and modify existing equipment as needed. Maintain documentation of all work performed. Make corrections, or correct suggestible measures, when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects. Attend meetings and trainings as required. Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment Perform backup duties to other staff as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures.. Knowledge of basic math, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and calculating percentages. Skill in using hand and power tools. Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Ability to operate a forklift and scissors lift. Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with both internal and external customers. Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits. Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems. Ability to be a good representative of the Company. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work flexible hours, including being on-call and weekends.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School diploma required. Minimum of two years related experience in a maintenance position, with previous Lead work preferred. Must be able to pass a maintenance entrance exam.
