Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the Maintenance Manager in leading all maintenance activities across the juice processing and canning facility. This role helps ensure equipment reliability, food-safety compliance, and efficient plant operations by coordinating maintenance teams, supporting preventive and predictive programs and assisting with contractor oversight. The position is both hands-on and supervisory, requiring strong technical skills and the ability to lead people in a fast-paced production environment. $ 97,906.00- 146,859.00 pay range .
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support daily maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution of work orders
  • Supervise maintenance technicians during shifts, providing guidance and troubleshooting support
  • Ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective work
  • Assist in managing spare parts inventory and coordinating with procurement
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and help lead root-cause analysis Equipment & Process Support
  • Provide technical support for juice processing equipment, canning lines, conveyors, pumps, fillers, pasteurizers, boilers, and utilities
  • Help optimize equipment performance to reduce downtime and improve throughput
  • Assist with implementing reliability improvements and continuous improvement initiatives Food Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with food-safety standards such as HACCP, GMPs, and SQF
  • Maintain proper documentation for audits and regulatory inspections
  • Support sanitation and allergen-control requirements related to maintenance work Contractor & Project Coordination
  • Assist in coordinating external contractors for specialized work (e.g., refrigeration, electrical, boiler service)
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in planning major shutdowns and recurring maintenance events
  • Help oversee small capital projects, equipment installations, and upgrades Safety & Training
  • Promote a strong safety culture and enforce LOTO, PPE, and safe-work practices
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action development
  • Train maintenance technicians on equipment, procedures, and best practices
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Experience working in a plant environment for 3+ years
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detailed oriented and can multi-task
  • Must have excellent time management skills Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in report writing
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Ability to direct, coach and train others.
  • Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.
FREQUENT
Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).
OCCASIONAL
Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
VISION:
Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.
HEARING:
Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines and exhaust fans.
