The Role We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to lead our Construction Maintenance Team. We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented leader who is passionate about empowering, developing, and managing our on-site teams and contractors. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in root cause analysis of facility equipment (HVAC, electrical, & plumbing), strong organization abilities to develop maintenance schedules and manage changing priorities, and strong leadership skills leading a team of technicians. The Cultivation Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the facility operates at peak efficiency by minimizing downtime of equipment, designing and proposing system improvements, whether custom or purchased, and planning out project timelines including maintenance schedules so that our Grow Team can perform at its best at all times. Must have a valid EPA Universal Certification.
Responsibilities:
Own all facility maintenance Lead and manage a team of Technicians Adhere to and develop maintenance schedules for all grow room and facility equipment including but not limited to PVC and PEX plant irrigation and drainage systems, HVAC, dehumidification, humidification, LED/HPS grow lighting, gas heaters, doors, ceilings, facility roof, facility lighting, security systems, and low voltage control wiring Lead new improvement project initiatives through design, BOM development, planning, ordering of supplies, and setting direction / managing the team (internal or contractors) Be the point of contact for all construction related contractors and vendors ensuring all company visitor policies are followed Ensure completion, timeliness, and quality of all internal and contractor work per work schedules Troubleshoot facility issues as they arise, come up with solutions, and implement solutions Ability to both work and lead from a plan or blueprint Work requires working near high voltage wiring for LED/HPS grow lights and dehumidification, but not directly with high voltage wiring Electrical work includes low voltage wiring for thermostat, humidistat, and other control devices Handle emergency service calls after business hours or on weekends as needed Work with vendors as needed including but not limited to electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and plumbing Keep documented logs and notes of inspections done, work completed, and vendor interactions Maintain an inventory list of spare parts to avoid any downtime due to equipment failures Move equipment, tools, or supplies between properties as required Run errands as required, including picking up supplies at various stores or vendors, and maintain detailed record keeping of receipts Touch up dry-wall as needed, including painting, and some wood trim Use and ensure team uses protective ear-wear, eye-wear, and steel toe shoes when necessary Develop SOPs for preventative maintenance, build outs, and regular occurring repairs Perform all other duties as necessary and any additional duties assigned by your supervisor/manager
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
5+ years of building maintenance or construction preferred Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team Be a reliable team player and leader Positive attitude day in and day out Ability to follow a work list Ability to supervise a team while adhering to workplace safety and standards Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work, as well as plan and order effectively Ability to work well under pressure Experience working with hand tools and power tools including but not limited to saws, drills, and grinding wheels. Experience in installation of plumbing systems such as irrigation and/or drainage is a plus, but must at minimum have a working understanding of HVAC, electrical and plumbing Experience in a production environment using mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trouble-shooting skills is a plus, but not required Experience with Reverse Osmosis irrigation systems is a plus Able to work on ladders up to 14' high, and on room ceilings 12-14' tall Serve as a role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies, and procedures. Have strong service and quality focus. Address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand the root cause, then communicate / educate the team in a timely manner.
Additional Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age or older to apply Must be able to work overtime as needed, including short-notice requests in the evenings or on weekends. Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
