43 North Marina - Service Manager Job Description Position summary: The Marine Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the marine service department. This role ensures high-quality repair and maintenance services, manages service technicians, maintains customer satisfaction, and meets departmental goals. The ideal candidate has strong technical marine knowledge, leadership skills, and excellent customer service abilities. That includes providing daily direction to the associates in the Service area to include inventory control, service, warranty, rigging, delivery, detail and parts activities. As a member of the team, general support of marina activities will be a part of the day to day responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Manage the daily operations of the marine service department. Supervise, train, and evaluate marine technicians and support staff. Schedule repairs, maintenance, and warranty work. Ensure repairs are completed on time and meet quality standards. Communicate with customers regarding service needs, estimates, and repair status. Prepare and review work orders, invoices, and repair documentation. Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and service equipment. Coordinate with manufacturers on warranty claims and technical support. Monitor departmental budgets, labor efficiency, and profitability. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards. Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently. Stay current with marine technologies, equipment, and industry best practices. Assist the Yard Manager with coordination of all "Special Events" to include Boat movement, Boat Shows, events and / or other on or off-site promotional activities. Ensure warranty claims are created, submitted and warranty payments received on a timely basis. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in marine technology, business management, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of marine service or boat repair experience. Previous supervisory or management experience preferred. Strong knowledge of marine engines, electrical systems, propulsion systems, and vessel maintenance. Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with service management software and Microsoft Office. Valid driver's license; Boating certifications are a plus.
