Job Description
Maintenance Supervisor The Geneva Business Improvement district is looking for a reliable, hardworking individual to head up our maintenance & landscaping team. This year-round position is out in the district working with, and directing, the team. Our small team is dedicated to downtown beautification with duties such as maintaining native plant landscaping beds, trash collection and general downtown upkeep, watering flowers, installing seasonal decorations, and event set-up/tear down. We are looking for someone who can lead by example, work well independently, and is flexible and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. They will also have capabilities of self-direction and cooperative coordination. They should be comfortable engaging with parter agencies, volunteers, and members of the community. The ideal candidate will have landscaping and/or experience with native plants, trees, and annuals, and be physically able to perform somewhat intensive labor outdoors in all-weather conditions. In the off-season, responsibilities will include snow removal and weather-dependent, on-call work hours. The supervisor will be responsible for managing and delegating the team's workload from week to week, determining and resetting tasks, setting schedules, and keeping and updating Standard Operating Procedure materials. The hours range from 40hrs a week at peak season down to 30 hours in the off-season (weather-dependent).
