Job Description
Long term care facility is seeking an experienced, organized, and motivated Director of Environmental Services to lead our maintenance, housekeeping and laundry departments. The ideal candidate will be committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities Direct and oversee all housekeeping, laundry, and environmental services operations. Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate environmental services staff. Ensure compliance with OSHA, CDC, CMS, and New York State Department of Health regulations. Monitor inventory and order maintenance, housekeeping and laundry supplies while maintaining budgetary controls. Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms, common areas, and facility grounds to ensure cleanliness and safety. Coordinate environmental services during admissions, discharges, room transfers, and infection prevention initiatives. Collaborate with nursing and administration to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents, visitors and staff. Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response activities. Maintain required documentation, policies, and departmental records. Qualifications Previous supervisory or management experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or hospitality, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting. Knowledge of infection control practices, sanitation standards, and regulatory requirements. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems is preferred.
