Job Description

Job Summary :
The Intern for the Facilities Department is responsible for completing work items, tasks and goals set forth by their External Supervisor. Reporting to the Senior Director of Facilities, the Intern represents the External Sponsor, Westchester Medical Center, located in Valhalla, NY. Under the direct supervision of the External Sponsor, the Facilities Intern will work within the Facilities Department to complete specific work items, tasks and goals while also assisting in all other components of the department's workflow. The Facilities Intern will be made aware of the organization's goals and policies.
Responsibilities:
Maintains flow and quality of work to ensure timely completion of assigned workload as it relates to the duties assigned by External Supervisor Maintain an adequate inventory of materials, equipment and supplies. Assist the department with Grainger's Keepstock system which helps the department with material inventory throughout the shops and storage rooms. Under direct supervision of the department the Facilities Intern will plan, communicate and coordinate contractor/vendor work associated with the plants and machinery for the hospital. Prepare and maintain a variety of departmental records, reports and logs. Assist with regulatory compliance record keeping as needed. Will trace out and plot various plant systems to help the Facilities Department obtain records and useful knowledge. Attends meetings with Facilities Management and other Departments such as Construction to add insight, expertise and knowledge on work involving the hospital plants and equipment. Performs related and other departmental job duties as required.

Minimum of one year of healthcare experience, preferred

High School diploma, required Licenses /

Other:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point). Experience with Microsoft
