  • Full-time A growing, locally based Self Storage Company is seeking a full-time Facility Maintenance Manager for its portfolio of self storage facilities located in Lorain County, Ohio.
The Facility Maintenance Manager is responsible for the general appearance, security and overall physical well-being of each self storage facility within their portfolio. Primary duties include performing required facility maintenance, groundskeeping, and light custodial functions, which are all critical to the operational success of self storage operations. This role also assists with providing outstanding customer service and basic support to current and prospective tenants when onsite.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Ensuring grounds are kept free of debris, weeds, hazards, and other unsightly items; ensuring that the lawn and landscaping are kept neat and appealing Managing unit inventory by conducting daily inspections and preparing available units for rent Coordinating the maintenance activities of the properties, including overseeing vendors or other contractors hired to complete the work Conducting regular inspections of property and grounds to identify any maintenance issues or potential safety concerns Ensuring the security equipment and cameras are always operational Providing occasional back-up or assistance to the office staff on administrative tasks Utilizing software to update tenant records, print documents, read and reply to email, upload photos, etc. Ensuring any business equipment is in working order Participating in any training required by the company in a variety of applicable areas Complying with all company procedures, policies, rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws Other duties as assigned
Required Experience and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required At least 1-2 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified is required, preferably in property or facilities management Overtime may be required for this position, as well as the ability to occasionally work outside of regular business hours Ability to use a computer and learn applicable software applications (including Microsoft Office programs) Effectively interact with the public and provide excellent customer service Effective written and verbal communication skills Confidence to work with minimum direct supervision Must possess a valid driver's license The Facility Maintenance Manager will be expected to work among different locations within the same general area, requiring some commute between locations, and will provide occasional onsite emergency assistance outside of regular business hours when needed. The candidate must clear a criminal background and pre-employment drug screening as a condition of employment. They must also possess a valid Driver's License and have a reliable form of transportation. The candidate will be expected to lift up to 50-75 pounds, operate lawn equipment in a safe manner, and independently handle tasks related to maintaining the facility.
