Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Comply with Orr's safety, environmental and quality policy as documented by the Orr Mission Statement. 2.Review job orders to determine work priorities. 3.Schedule repairs, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. 4.Coordinate activities of fabrication, machine modification, tools and equipment to manufacture new products or improves existing products. 5.Direct maintenance activities of utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, electric, gas, or air required for operations. 6.Develop preventive and predictive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering. 7.Review production, quality control, and maintenance reports to plan and/or modify maintenance activities to reduce downtime and improve processes. 8.Inspect machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards. 9.Review new product lines and discuss equipment needs and design modifications needed. 10.Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies needed for operations. 11.Prepare department budget and monitor expenditures. 12.Support production and engineering with tooling/technical problems. 13.Ensure all stock items, tool inserts and spares are organized. 14.Oversee all work through the tool room efficiently and cost effectively and ensure that all target dates for tooling are met. 15.Supervise/Manage the running and plan activities of the tool room facilities and toolmakers, ensuring the tool room is a safe environment in line with health, safety and environmental requirements. 16.Supports Production and Engineering to manage and guarantee on time availability of tools to ensure continuous production. 17.Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Analyze and resolve work problems; or assist employees in solving work problems. 2.Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals. 3.Counsel, coach and discipline employees in department when required. 4.Maintain appropriate time and production records. 5.Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials for production. 6.Responsible for required training of all department employees. 7.Cooperate with other supervisors to coordinate production activities.
