Job Description
This is a Union Role. The role You lead daily maintenance operations on a manufacturing floor: keeping equipment reliable, cutting downtime, and making sure the plant and its systems are safe and well maintained. You stay hands-on with the tools while you coordinate the work, direct maintenance team members across all shifts, and push continuous improvement. You install, repair, and maintain production equipment and facility systems using hand and power tools, a laptop, and precision measuring devices. Leadership responsibilities Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to maintenance team members across all shifts. Support the senior maintenance lead in coordinating daily work assignments and overall team performance. Coach, train, and develop maintenance employees around safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. What you will do Lead the maintenance team in supporting production goals: safety, quality, productivity, scrap reduction, and continuous improvement. Assign and prioritize daily maintenance activities to hit operational and KPI targets. Coordinate and respond to equipment downtime, corrective maintenance, work orders, and preventive and predictive maintenance. Perform troubleshooting, installation, repair, and maintenance of production equipment, machinery, and facility systems. Make sure preventive and predictive maintenance programs are executed on time. Maintain an adequate spare parts inventory and help purchase replacement parts. Coordinate and support contracted maintenance services. Support maintenance improvement initiatives, including preventive maintenance optimization, equipment upgrades, and maintenance system enhancements. Perform equipment and gauge calibration as required. Promote a safe work environment and make sure safety policies and procedures are followed in and out of the maintenance department. Handle routine employee relations issues and support team building and problem solving. Communicate across all shifts with operators, engineering, quality, and other support departments, and run maintenance shift handoffs. Help schedule maintenance resources, including overtime coverage, to meet operational needs. Train and mentor maintenance team members to build technical skills and performance. Perform other duties as assigned. What you bring Demonstrated leadership experience: coaching, mentoring, team building, conflict resolution, and motivating people. Strong verbal and written communication with individuals and groups. Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems and best practices. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Flexibility to work across all shifts as business needs require. High integrity, accountability, initiative, and follow-through. Strong attention to detail on both administrative and production-related work. Proficiency with standard office software and a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Nice to have Technical or trade school education. Previous industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience leading or supervising maintenance personnel. Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Strong ability to interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints. Education and experience High school diploma or GED required. Physical demands Prolonged periods of standing and walking daily. Able to safely lift 50 pounds.
Pay:
$35.00 - $38.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.5 per weekBenefits:
