Job Description
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Physical Plant Operations, the Assistant Director of Physical Plant - Enid ensures the support of the College's commitment for providing quality facilities and grounds for the Enid Campus. The Assistant Director supervises the daily event scheduling, oversees the preventive and general maintenance, assignment of work, and provides guidance and oversight of the work for building trades, custodial, grounds, athletic fields, equipment maintenance, motor pool vehicles, warehousing and campus deliveries for the Enid Campus. Oversee any required routine preventive maintenance and repairs on all facilities at Enid Campus.
Advises Director of Physical Plant Operations of needed tools, supplies and equipment and whether a repair requires a separate work order to a Maintenance Technician or the use of a licensed tradesperson.
Report any deficiencies on a daily basis in regards to infrastructure needs.
Evaluate and coordinate any scheduled events needed.
Actively participate in projects including remodels, capital projects and/or renovations.
Make sure all inspection forms and checklists are submitted within established timeframes.
Continuous monitoring of fleet for needed repairs on a consistent basis.
Communicate and work closely with Director on budgetary items as well as long term planning.
Advise Director of Physical Plant Operations of needs related to ADA compliance throughout facilities.
Review and operate ABS controls for boiler and HVAC systems and advise Director of operational faults.
Work closely with any State entity on any items requiring annual inspections.
Check that all premises are safe and not in violation of our safety policies.
Consistently inspect quality and quantity of performed work by maintenance staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS
To perform the role of the Assistant Director of Physical Plant -Enid successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to the Director of Physical Plant Operations satisfaction. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: Consistent attendance and punctuality; Ability to work independently, organize workload and set priorities; Ability to properly utilize and maintain tools and maintenance equipment; Ability to work as a member of a team; Ability to communicate both orally and in writing; Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to use extendable boom forklift, forklift (sit down, stand-up, or motorized pallet jacks), high reach (aerial lift), backhoe/frontend loader, and tractor required. Must maintain a valid Oklahoma Driver's License required to operate company vehicles.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFACTIONS
High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college. Bachelor's degree or an associate's degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or any other related field of study, a valid journeyman license and or 2 - 3 years of experience of working as a preventive maintenance technician.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the preventive maintenance technician job. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to lift greater than 25 pounds or more; will require repetitive reaching, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting; will require working at heights greater than 4 feet, might require welding, cutting, brazing, and working with an open flame.
