Automotive Shop Foreman Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Shop Foreman to lead our team of automotive technicians and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in automotive repair, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to deliver top-notch customer service. As the Shop Foreman, you will oversee daily shop activities, mentor team members, and maintain high standards for quality, safety, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of automotive technicians. Assign and prioritize work orders to ensure timely completion. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback. Promote a positive and productive work environment.
Operational Oversight:
Monitor daily shop operations to ensure workflow efficiency. Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and safety standards. Ensure tools, equipment, and technology are properly maintained and calibrated. Assist in diagnosing and resolving complex vehicle repair issues.
Quality Assurance:
Inspect completed repairs to ensure high-quality workmanship. Enforce adherence to company standards, procedures, and protocols. Address and resolve customer concerns regarding repairs or services.
Customer Service:
Collaborate with service advisors to provide accurate repair estimates and timelines. Communicate technical issues and solutions to customers when needed. Build trust and maintain strong customer relationships.
Inventory & Supplies Management:
Monitor parts inventory and order supplies as needed. Ensure proper use of resources to minimize waste and costs.
Training & Development:
Provide ongoing training to technicians to keep them up to date with industry advancements. Support team members in achieving certifications and professional growth.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (ASE certification or vocational training preferred). 5+ years of experience as an automotive technician or in a similar role. Proven leadership experience in an automotive repair shop environment. Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures. Proficiency with diagnostic tools, repair software, and shop equipment. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
